FUT Hair Transplant
FUT Hair Transplant London
The FUT hair transplant is a one-day outpatient procedure, performed under local anaesthetic at our Harley Street clinic in London.
Genetically strong hairs, immune to male pattern baldness, are relocated from the back of the head to your new recipient area, where they will continually grow.
FUT stands for Follicular Unit Transplant, where a thin strip of tissue containing the follicles is excised from your safe zone donor region. Unlike the FUE extraction technique, this surgical method uses an advanced suturing technique called the Trichophytic closure, which allows hairs to grow directly through the incision line once healed.
Once the strip tissue is excised, the surgical team carefully dissect and prepare the grafts under high magnification, before individually implanting them into your recipient area one by one.
We are able to leave your hair longer at the back for the strip excision process, and simply comb the hair over the incision line once sutured for discreeter healing.
At our Harley Street clinic in London we can perform the FUT technique more than once for candidates with suitable scalp laxity, as we excise and refashion the previous linear scar.
You can expect your hair transplant result to be seen between 6-12 months after your surgery, with continued maturation of the hair quality up to 18 months until the final result.

This will include long term planning and the correct management of your available donor hair, taking into account possible future usage of this precious finite region.
